Welcome!
I was born in Breckenridge, Colorado and still carry the mountains with me in a lot of what I write. These days I make songs somewhere between Americana, indie folk, bluegrass, and alt-pop.
I’ve spent most of my life outside the traditional music industry path. Along the way I’ve worked as a teacher, outdoor educator, town councilor, father, and real estate professional. I’ve written songs in quiet houses, mountain towns, classrooms, cafés, and early mornings before the world wakes up.
I come from a musical family where after-dinner entertainment usually meant somebody picking up a guitar or singing a song. Music has always felt less like a career choice to me and more like a way of processing life.
I’m a founding member of the Breckenridge band The Pine Beatles, and over the years I’ve been shaped by artists like Bruce Cockburn, Gillian Welch, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bon Iver, Wilco, and The Grateful Dead — people who remind me that “three chords and the truth” is an aspiration.
That’s what I hope for these songs too.
Some are sparse and acoustic. Some lean into experimentation. But underneath all of them is the same impulse: trying to make sense of being human, and maybe helping somebody else feel a little less alone while doing it.
If one of the songs means something to you, I’d genuinely love to hear from you.
Thanks for listening.
